Within the framework of Solvency II, the European Commission has initiated on April 15th , with the main stakeholders, the Public Consultation on the technical specifications proposal for the QIS5, which shall take place between August and November 2010.

The released specifications are based on a preliminary draft submitted by the Committee of European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Supervisors (CEIOPS) and include a set of ammendments on the Note annex to the document.

It is the the European Commission's purpose to collect only the contributions of a limited number of duly identified stakeholders before 20th May. The final version of the QIS5 technical specifications shall be released on July 1st 2010.

ISP shall promote a set of support initiatives to this study and looks forward to the participation of the entire Portuguese Insurance sector.
